VetSelect™
An Interactive Hiring Assessment Concept for Veterinary Professionals
Traditional hiring practices in veterinary medicine often rely on resumes, interviews, and knowledge-based written exams to evaluate candidates. While these methods measure experience and factual recall, they provide limited insight into how applicants prioritize patient care, communicate under pressure, or make decisions in realistic clinical situations.
VetSelect™ is a concept for a scenario-based hiring assessment designed to evaluate workplace readiness through authentic decision-making. Candidates navigate interactive clinical scenarios that mirror the demands of a small animal veterinary hospital, allowing hiring managers to assess competencies such as patient safety, clinical judgment, communication, professionalism, and teamwork. By shifting the focus from memorized knowledge to observable workplace behaviors, VetSelect™ demonstrates how instructional design can support more informed, competency-based hiring decisions.
