Background & Experience

My journey into learning design began at the intersection of science, healthcare, and education. After several years practicing in emergency and specialty veterinary medicine, I transitioned into education with a passion for helping others understand complex concepts and develop the skills needed for success.

My clinical background taught me the importance of clear communication, structured problem-solving, and effective training in high-stakes environments. As a veterinary educator, I have applied these skills through curriculum development, instructional design, assessment creation, and classroom facilitation. I have designed learning experiences that transform technical information into engaging, accessible, and practical instruction for students entering the veterinary field.

Beyond content expertise, my work has allowed me to explore the broader principles of how people learn. I am passionate about evidence-based instructional strategies, learner-centered design, and creating educational experiences that support confidence, retention, and real-world application. Whether developing a course, building assessments, or redesigning learning materials, my focus is on creating solutions that meet both learner and organizational goals.

While my experience has primarily been within veterinary and healthcare education, my skills as a learning designer are highly transferable across industries. I am interested in applying my background in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning to corporate learning and development environments—creating training solutions that improve performance, support professional growth, and help organizations achieve their goals.

I am currently continuing to expand my expertise in instructional design and learning sciences, with the goal of contributing to innovative learning solutions across a variety of professional settings.
